A Fresh New Look for Providence Gastroenterology
A representative from Providence Gastroenterology reached out with a clear goal: to revamp their outdated website and create a digital presence that truly reflects the professionalism and care their practice is known for. The previous site had been built internally by a staff member without a design background, and while it served its purpose, it no longer aligned with the direction the practice was heading.
As Providence Gastroenterology entered an exciting phase of restructuring and growth, they saw the value in a modern, patient-friendly website that would enhance trust, improve usability, and elevate their brand. I was brought in to redesign the site from the ground up—focusing on clean visuals, intuitive navigation, and a warm, welcoming feel. The result is a refreshed online presence that better represents the heart of their practice and supports their continued success.
Addressing the Gaps in the Original Design
The previous Providence Gastroenterology website lacked visual and structural consistency, resulting in a disjointed user experience that didn’t reflect the professionalism of the practice. It also fell short on essential UI/UX principles—such as clear navigation, hierarchy, responsive design, and accessibility. Pages felt cluttered, important information was hard to find, and there was no intuitive flow to guide users through their journey.
As part of the redesign process, we introduced a cohesive and modern color palette, added interactive buttons and call-to-actions, and incorporated a cleaner layout to improve usability. The updated site is now much more engaging and user-friendly, with a focus on simplicity and clarity. Preliminary sketches and wireframes were created to map out the new structure and flow before building the site on Wix, ensuring a thoughtful design process from concept to final implementation.

Throughout the wireframing process, I collaborated closely with the Providence Gastroenterology team to better understand their goals and the needs of their patients. Based on these conversations, we restructured the site map, introduced a more intuitive navigation system, and refined the overall user journey. We also updated their color system and typography to create a more modern, welcoming aesthetic. Third-party systems were better integrated to streamline access to services, while outdated content was revised and reorganized. A dedicated Patient Information section was added to provide clear, helpful resources—including improved access to patient forms, which are now easy to find and download. The result is a website that not only looks more professional but also serves as a true support tool for patients and staff alike.
